Swiss Jazz Orchestra & Michael Zismann: Close Encounter

Close Encounter swissmusic

Big band jazz. The Swiss Jazz Orchestra, founded in Berne 2003, has since become somewhat of an established institution in Switzerland's capital and beyond. It appears live on a weekly basis on Mondays at the Bierhübeli Berne and has collaborated with numerous soloists from all musical fields. Not surprisingly its repertoire ranges from jazz to rock and pop to classical. Close Encounter features uprising bandoneon talent Michael Zisman on a couple of his and jazz trumpeter Bert Joris' compositions which draw some inspiration of the Nuevo Tango style.
