Swiss victory leaves Norway seeing double

Switzerland were too good for Norway Keystone

Norway's ice hockey team headed for home with a strong sense of déja vu after they went down 3-1 to Switzerland in Kreuzlingen - 24 hours after losing by the same score in Herisau.

Michel Riesen, Marcel Jenni and Ivo Rüthemann all scored for the Swiss in the second game of their two-match friendly series against the Norwegians.

But Rüthemann was soon brought down to earth by the news that he was being left out of the squad for the world ice hockey championship in Germany in nine days’ time.

Thierry Paterlini, David Jobin and Rolf Ziegler were also dropped by Swiss coach, Ralph Krueger.
