Trade unions threaten action over job lay-offs
The announcement of hundreds of job losses in Switzerland over the past few weeks has caused outrage among Swiss trade unions and prompted threats of industrial action. Union leaders say companies do not hesitate to cut jobs to boost shareholder value.
