William Hayes (1708-1777): Concerti Grossi / Overtures. Capriccio Basel.
"Capriccio Basel was formed in 1999 and has established itself very rapidly amongst the leading homegrown Baroque orchestras" (Basler Zeitung). The repertoire of the orchestra comprises works from the Baroque, Classical and early Romantic periods. Using the original instruments of these epochs, Capriccio Basel develops a nuanced and tonally rich sound, in a distinctive style characterised by dynamics, drama and fantasy.
