Young Boys Bern have regained the top position of the league table after a stunning home victory of 7-0 over Lausanne.

The match was exciting from the opening whistle with Bern’s Joël Descloux and Johan Berisha each scoring a goal in the first 12 minutes.

In the second half, the Young Boys continued to dominate the game adding four more goals under their own steam. Lausanne, currently second bottom in the league, contributed to the defeat when Stéphane Gobet scored an own goal.

This was the biggest victory for the Bernese club since the introduction of the new league system mode 14 years ago. On August 1, 1989 the Boys also won a 7-0 victory over FC Servette.

Neuchâtel Xamax moved up one place in the league table to ninth position today after beating Sion 4-0.

The match between Lucerne and Aarau was postponed due to the shootings in the regional parliament in Zug on Thursday.
