1932 -CN

The worldwide depression hits Switzerland hard, polarising Left and Right. The army is called out to restore order at a workers demonstration in Geneva. Raw recruits fire into the crowd, killing 13 protesters and wounding 65 others. By 1937, a settlement is reached between metalworking unions and employers, banning both strikes and lockouts.
