The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office tested different kinds of eggs from a range of farms, adding up to 48 eggs in total. On Monday, the office confirmed that Swiss eggs are not affected by the insecticide and are safe to consume.

The World Health Organization (WHO) considers Fipronil to be a moderately toxic substance.
