The family heirlooms becoming worthless

Everything is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.  This also applies to antiques at auctions or in thrift shops. At these places, sellers of old and rare objects hope to hit the jackpot but are mostly disappointed by the outcomes. In Switzerland, whether it’s for stamps or walnut cabinets, demand seems to be decreasing. Only extremely rare pieces still get snapped up, mostly by foreign investors, as status symbols.
