Capitolio

The word ‘capitolio’ refers to the domed building that houses a government. In photographer Chris Anderson’s essay, the city of Caracas and Venezuela itself become a metaphorical ‘capitolio’.
These images were taken during the 2006 presidential elections. On October 7, 2012, Venezuelans will again cast their vote. (All images by Chris Anderson/Magnum)
