Has been working for swissinfo.ch since 1992 and has been the head of the Arabic section since 2003.
A holder of an engineering degree from the Naples Polytechnic in Italy, he is also a graduate of the Institute of journalism and communication sciences at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.
Studied political science and film studies at the University of Zurich, where he discovered his passion for data analysis and international movies. He joined SWI swissinfo.ch in 2020 to work on data driven stories and visualisations.
After some years in the regional print and broadcast media in French Switzerland, in 2000 I joined Radio Swiss International, which then became swissinfo.ch. Since then I have been writing (and producing short videos) on a variety of subjects, from politics to business, and including culture and science.
As an economist, I’m interested in how the Swiss economy ticks, from the founding of innovative startups to the interest rate decisions of the National Bank. Before coming to swissinfo.ch, I worked as an economics journalist for the Der Bund and Finanz und Wirtschaft newspapers.
Studied history and politics at University of Bern. Worked at Reuters, the newspapers Der Bund and Berner Zeitung, and the Förderband radio station. I am concerned with the Swiss practice of modern direct democracy in all its aspects and at all levels, my constant focus being the citizen.
Not content to mind her own business, Susan studied journalism in Boston so she’d have the perfect excuse to put herself in other people’s shoes and worlds. When not writing, she presents and produces podcasts and videos.
Has been working for the Arabic section of swissinfo.ch since 2018. He graduated in Islamic Studies and Oriental Literatures (Master of Arts, 2018, University of Bern) and in philosophy (Bachelor of Arts, 2010, University of Damascus).
