Nestlé invests in Switzerland

The food multinational Nestlé says its investments have created more than 2,300 jobs in Switzerland over the past 14 years.

The head of Nestlé Switzerland, Roland Decorvet, announced the brands Findus and Thomy will be revamped.

The company was spending more than SFr2.5 billion ($2.2 billion) at the three sites of Avenches, Orbe and Konolfingen between 1997 and 2010, Decorvet told the 24 Heures newspaper.

Nestlé is due to open research centre devoted to premium and luxury chocolate at Broc next year.

Decorvet said Nestlé Switzerland increased its market share by four per cent by August in line with expectations and hoped to boost exports.

Earlier this week Nestlé announced its Americas chief Paul Polman resigned from his post six months after Paul Bulcke took over as chief executive from Peter Brabeck.
