Canton Glarus police have identified the two men killed in a helicopter crash on Good Friday as a father and his son. The son had been piloting the aircraft when it crashed into a snowfield in the Vorab region.
The 45-year-old son is thought to have been attempting to land on a mountain landing spot as part of a training programme. It is not yet known what caused the helicopter to crash.
The helicopter had taken off from Basel a few hours earlier with four people on board, but two were dropped off in Samedan before the start of the training flight.
Federal air crash investigators have begun an inquiry along with the local authorities.
