The GaultMillau jury said the quality of the food in the resort’s restaurants as well as its hotel and wellness offers made it world class.
The jury said its decision was influenced by the new spa suites – part of SFr160 million ($151 million) in renovations the resort owners have made over the past year and a half.
The suites, boasting their own steam baths and saunas, had set new standards, the jury said.
Three of the seven restaurants have been awarded at least 13 out of 20 points on the GaultMillau scale.
It is the second time since 1998 that the Bad Ragaz resort has won the award.
