Jelmoli sales show robust growth Keystone Archive

First half sales at the retail and real estate company, Jelmoli, have increased by 25 per cent to SFr531.1 million ($296 million), with rental income up 6.6 per cent to SFr41.9 million.

Excluding the acquisition of Electro Plus and the opening of new outlets for its Molino restaurants, sales on a comparable basis for the same period in 2000 were up 8.5 per cent.

Jelmoli said that based on a strong consumer sentiment, it expected favourable sales growth for the rest of the year. Rental income is also expected to increase, it said on Tuesday.

It also said it expected to have achieved its earnings target for the firs six months of the year, with details being released on September 4.
