A day in the life of a GP

Switzerland faces a shortfall of general practitioners in the years to come.

Fewer and fewer medical students are choosing to become family doctors in part due to unattractive conditions and a heavy workload. At the same time, up to half of the country’s GPs are set to retire by 2016. Photographer Severin Nowacki spent time in 2006 with GP Walter Raaflaub at his practice in the Bernese village of Saanenmöser.
