Young Italians seek their fortunes in Switzerland

More than 100,000 Italians under 30 years of age left Italy last year, and many of the well-educated among them end up in Switzerland. The cause of the exodus: high unemployment in Italy. (SRF/swissinfo.ch) 

Italians now make up the largest foreign population group in the Alpine country. Giulio Sovran, an architect, came to Switzerland six years ago and started the group “Goodbye Mamma!”, to support and advise fellow Italians. It now has 25, 000 members.
