Swiss army products shop to open in New York
The Swiss army knife, much prized in the United States as elsewhere, will shortly find a new showcase in New York.
The American company, Swiss Army Brands, which has the exclusive sales rights to Switzerland’s army knife in the US, is opening its first shop in New York’s Soho area. The opening is expected in mid-September.
The decision to open the flagship shop was made after a highly successful presentation of Swiss army products earlier this year, said the company.
The luxury shop, which will occupy a total surface of 325 square metres, will sell products manufactured by the Swiss company, Victorinox, based in Ibach in canton Schwyz.
Swiss army knives will not be the only item on sale: there will also be watches, multi-functional tools, travel bags and clothing.
“We see this flagship shop as an opportunity to display the full range of our products,” said Jeff Turner, president of Swiss Army Brands.
