Ammann sails to second in Lahti

Switzerland's Simon Ammann has taken second place on Sunday's ski jump in Lahti in Finland, the 11th World Cup event of the season.

It was won by rival Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria. In third place was Dimitry Vassiliev of Russia.

Fellow Swiss Andreas Küttel only managed 23rd place, amid challenging conditions. The jump was moved from the large hill because of strong winds.

Schlierenzauer, who has 11 wins, three seconds and three third place finishes in the World Cup this season, has increased his overall lead to 254 points ahead of Ammann.

Five events remain, with the next held in Kuopio, Finland, on Tuesday.
