The Swiss Life insurance company in Zurich says it is to launch the first integrated financial portal in Switzerland from next January.

Under the name redsafe.com, the first exclusive online bank will provide a comprehensive range of online financial services.

In a statement on Tuesday, Swiss Life said its Redsafe Bank would have its head office in Zurich and employ about 40 people.

Apart from banking products and securities trading on various stock exchanges, redsafe.com will also offer fund and insurance products.

Clients of the new bank will be provided with a complete overview of their current wealth situation. All investors will have the possibility of drawing up their individual risk profile with specific investment recommendations and of carrying out transactions in real-time.

Swiss Life says the new financial portal guarantees security and confidentiality of all transactions and client data.

The company also announced on Tuesday that an independent company is to be established in Britain to provide services for expatriates. These include advice on taxes, visa matters, work permits and financial services.
