Basel draw Bayern Munich in Champions League

FC Basel will meet Bayern Munich in the final 16 of the Champions League, European football’s most prestigious club tournament.

The Swiss team, which upset heavily favoured Manchester United in the group stage to enter the knockout round, will also be the underdog against the German side, who are four-time winners of the Champions League.

The two teams met previously in the group stage last year, with Bayern winning 2-1 in Switzerland and 3-0 in Munich.

The first match will take place in Basel on February 22, with the teams moving to Munich for the second leg on March 13.

Among the other pairings, Naples face Chelsea, Milan go up against Arsenal, defending champions Barcelona drew Bayer Leverkusen and ZSKA Moscow will meet Real Madrid.
