Bob driver Hefti misses training runs after crash
Swiss bobsleigh driver Beat Hefti has missed some training runs after suffering a crash on Wednesday night.
Hefti, a medal contender in the two-man bob, is suffering from a severe headache following his accident at the Whistler Sliding Center track.
Australian pusher Duncan Harvey was briefly hospitalised after another crash from the same night of training, and was held out of practice Thursday as a precaution. In all, eight sleds crashed in Wednesday’s session, although one righted itself and came across the finish on its runners.
And Latvian driver Janis Minins will miss the Olympic two-man event, following emergency surgery to remove his appendix.
