Accident Train collides with tourist coach in Interlaken

At least 17 people have been injured when a train hit a tourist bus at the Swiss town of Interlaken.

Police said the accident occurred at a level crossing on Friday evening between two stations in Interlaken.

The victims of the crash - mostly tourists from Asia - were taken to hospital for treatment, but most of them were able to leave a few hours later, according to a statement published on Saturday.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

Train services were interrupted for several hours before they resumed again on Saturday morning.
