The 45th annual ski race between Swiss and British parliamentarians at Davos saw one Swiss parliamentarian, This Jenny, win the men's giant slalom for the third time in a row. The woman's event was also won by a Swiss, Trix Heberlein.

Some 57 parliamentarians took part in the giant slalom on Saturday under overcast skies. However, they failed to match the striking performance of the Swiss skiing stars, Sonja Nef and Michael Von Grünigen, who each won their World Cup giant slalom races the same day.

The British skier with the best time of the day was Lord John Verulam Platz, who came in fourth spot in the men’s competition.

Cabinet minister, Ruth Metzler, failed to repeat the success of past performances, and crashed out before the last gate.

The former Swiss president, Adolf Ogi, was notably absent from the event.
