Heavy fog between Belmont and Chexbres, close to Lausanne, has caused a multiple collision involving 50 cars, blocking the crash site on the major motorway for hours.

More than 100 people were involved in the spectacular accident. Only 11 people were slightly injured in the pile-up, according to the police of canton Vaud. The police assume that the drivers did not adapt their speed and distances to the poor visibility conditions.
