Federer through to next round of Swiss Indoors

Roger Federer has won his first round match at the Swiss Indoors tennis tournament.

The two-time defending champion took three sets to beat 86th ranked Bobby Reynolds of the United States by 6-3, 6-7 (6:8), 6-3 in Basel on Tuesday.

The world number two took the first set in just 25 minutes but Reynolds fought back, securing the second after it went to a tie-break.

Federer then returned to form to quickly win the final set. He faces either Jarkko Nieminen of Finland or Eduardo Schwank of Argentina on Thursday.
