French sweep awards at Les Diablerets film festival
The 31st international festival of alpine films in the Swiss mountain resort of Les Diablerets has come to a close after French films claimed nearly all of the major awards.
Following one week of screenings, jurors honoured French artists with three of the top four awards.
The Grand Prize went to the film “Annapurna, the story of a legend”, which was directed by Frenchman, Bernard George.
In the category of the “best dipiction of mountain life”, Gilles Perret was honoured for his film, “Three brothers for one life”. “On the land of the Grizzlie”, by Dominique Sanfourche, won the category of “protection of the environment and mountains”.
The previous golden award went to the Swiss Gianluigi Quarti and Fulvio Mariani for “I cavalieri delle vertigini”. This year, 31 films were in the runnings for the grand prize.
