The website of the Al-Jazeera television network reported the son of Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi wanted to continue the proceedings against Switzerland at an international tribunal.
A court ruled on Monday the Tribune de Genève newspaper was wrong to post the photo of Hannibal but said the action was not intentionally malicious. It refused to award the SFr100,000 ($94,000) in damages Hannibal was claiming.
A spokesman for the Libyan government said: “Libya does not want revenge and does not feel humiliated. It just wants to see justice done.”
Hannibal was arrested in July 2008 for allegedly beating servants at a Geneva hotel. A payment was made to his accusers and they dropped the charges. Hannibal left Switzerland shortly thereafter.
