Gagliardi out in third round
Switzerland's Emmanuelle Gagliardi has been defeated by Yugoslavia's Jelena Dokic in the third round of the $585,000 tennis tournament in Amelia Island, Florida.
Dokic beat the 25 year-old Geneva player in straight sets 3-6, 4-6 in just over 70 minutes of play. It is the third match Gagliardi has lost against Dokic in as many encounters.
Gagliardi made it to Saturday’s third round after winning her match against the United States’ Meilen Tu on Friday, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
