Kloten have secured their place in the semi-finals by defeating Fribourg 4-1 in the fifth round of the ice hockey league play-offs.

They were the only team to book their place in the semi-finals with the Zurich Lions and Lugano both losing – to Ambri and Zug respectively.

Hot favourites Davos got their playoff campaign back on track with a 3-1 home win over Bern, taking Arno del Curto’s team into a 3-2 overall lead in the best-of-seven series. The side from Graubünden got off to a good start scoring the first two goals in the opening period of the match.

Zug had to work a lot harder against Lugano, scoring a goal in overtime to clinch a 2-1 victory. Lugano are now 3-2 ahead overall.

The Zurich Lions lost 4-2 against Ambri, which has also reduced their lead to 3-2.
