Ivica Kostelic of Croatia has won a men’s World Cup slalom in the Swiss resort of Wengen – his second victory in three days.

Switzerland’s Marc Gini finished in 16th place while Silvan Zurbriggen was 22nd.

Kostelic clocked a combined two-run time of 1’45.28 seconds in Sunday’s competition to stretch his lead in the World Cup overall standings.

Marcel Hirscher of Austria came second and Jean-Baptiste Grange of France was third, trailing Kostelic by 0.93 and 0.99 seconds respectively.

Kostelic also won Friday’s super-combined event of Wengen ahead of Swiss skier Carlo Janka.

Saturday’s prestigious Lauberhorn downhill race went to Austria’s Klaus Kröll who edged Switzerland’s Didier Cuche and Janka.
