Langnau and Rapperswil keep ice hockey playoff hopes alive

Langnau and Rapperswil both enjoyed vital wins on Tuesday to keep things tight near the bottom of Switzerland's top ice hockey league.

Langnau remained just outside the top eight despite their 3-2 win over Davos but the canton Bern side are now within two points of Fribourg and Rapperswil.

Fribourg dropped to eighth on Tuesday after losing 4-2 at home to runaway leaders Lugano. Rapperswil climbed to seventh after a 4-3 win over Zug.

Chur, already heading for the relegation playouts, suffered a 7-1 mauling at home to Bern, while bottom-side La Chaux-de-Fonds lost 5-2 in Kloten.
