Feuz triumphs in Super-G

Swiss skier Beat Feuz has won the Super-G in the Italian resort of Val Gardena, his second victory in his World Cup career and his fourth podium of the season.

With his time of 1 minute 21.51 seconds, he beat the American Bode Miller by 0.30 seconds. Kjetil Jansrud of Norway was third, 0.14 seconds behind.

The 24-year-old Feuz has started his season very well, coming second in the downhill at both Lake Louise and Beaver Creek, where he also came third in the Super-G.

Strong winds caused the organisers to lower the departure gate by 100 metres to 1,900 metres, which cut about 250 metres off the course.

Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, who was 0.69 seconds behind Feuz, still heads the overall World Cup rankings, and has consolidated his leadership in the Super-G. Feuz lies second overall and second in the Super-G.

The other Swiss skiers put in disappointing performances, with none making the top ten.
