Switzerland's Corinne Rey-Bellet has finished seventh in a World Cup Super-G race in the Canadian ski resort of Lake Louise.

Saturday’s race was won by Renate Götschl of Austria who finished ahead of Régine Cavagnoud of France and Martina Ertl of Germany.

On Friday, Rey-Bellet placed third in a World Cup downhill race, the same position that she achieved in the season’s first super-G race in Aspen last week.

Her compatriot, Sylviane Berthod, demonstrated her return to form by finishing 13th.

Rey-Bellet is now in seventh position in the Women’s alpine skiing World Cup league table. Martina Ertl is leading the pack with 420 points. Her nearest rival is Cavagnoud with 324 points.

Austria’s super champion, Hermann Maier won the World Cup men’s downhill at Beaver Creek in the United States. The Norwegian, Lasse Kjus, came second and Austria’s Stephan Eberharter came third.

The highest-placed Swiss was Bruno Kernen who came sixth. Paul Accola also made the top ten by coming in ninth.
