Some 55 per cent of Swiss people are pleased with their healthcare system, according to a survey.

Consultancy Deloitte polled consumers in Switzerland, the United States, Britain, Canada, France and Germany.
More than half of the Swiss and the French praised their local systems. Only 21 to 43 per cent of Americans, Britons and Canadians did so. Germans were the least satisfied, with just 17 per cent saying they were happy with their healthcare system.
“Both France and Switzerland do a very good job of setting expectations for their patient populations and then meeting them, in terms of speed and quality of healthcare,” said Deloitte head of healthcare, Dean Arnold.
As the results of the study show, the amount spent per capita on healthcare does not guarantee contented customers.
Of the six countries polled, the United States spends the most on healthcare: $7,290 (SFr7,700) per person each year. In comparison, Switzerland spends considerably less – about SFr4,600 ($4,360).
