After its victory over Bern on Friday, Lugano has regained its top position in the overall ice hockey league table.

As the match between Ambri-Piotta and Zug had to be postponed due to Thursday's shootings in Zug's regional parliament, Ambri did not get the chance to defend its top spot of the league.

Bern, which is currently seventh in the league, failed to draw strength from the home crowd and lost 3-4 to Lugano.

Only 70 seconds after the beginning of the match, Bern's keeper Marco Bührer could not keep Andy Näser's well-placed puc out of his goal.

Shortly afterwards Mark Reichert managed to achieve a draw for Bern, however, it did not last very long as, 48 seconds later, the 21-year-old Jan Cadieux scored the puc into his opponents' goal.

Lugano was in good shape while Bern looked a bit shaky on the ice. In the 55th minute of the match, Marc Weber had the opportunity to even the score but missed his chance and the goal.

Other results

Rapperswil was able to keep its third position in the league table by winning 3-4 over Lausanne, who have lost their ninth position and dropped down to number 10 of the league.

Davos could celebrate a comeback with Michael Riesen, who joined Davos only last week after returning from the US. The 22-year-old scored the sixth goal through which his team achieved a 6-3 victory over the Langnau Tigers.

Fribourg also scored a convincing 6-3 over Chur, which leaves the Chur team at the bottom of the table in 12th position. Fribourg's youngster Thibaut Monnet, who was the fourth best NLA scorer for La Chaux-de-Fonds last year, managed to score his first goal of the season .

The Lions, who are second bottom of the overall league table, suffered another defeat against its rival Kloten. After their 2-3 victory over the Lions, Kloten managed to climb up the table from 10th to ninth position.
