Lugano and the Zurich Lions won their semi-final matches on Tuesday evening in the best-of-seven series. Qualifying league leaders, Lugano, bounced back with a win over Bern, while defending champions, Zurich Lions, stretched their lead over the Kloten Flyers.

The Lions beat their local rivals 2-1 in front of an 11,500-strong crowd. Mark Ouimet and Michel Zeiter scored for the Lions while Andy Keller scored the Flyers’ only goal of the evening.

The defending champions now lead 3-0 in the playoffs against Kloten, and need just one more victory to qualify for the final.

Lugano trounced Bern 5-1 in the other semi-final match, to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
