Nadal beats Berdych in Wimbledon final

Rafael Nadal has swept aside Tomas Berdych in straight sets to win his second Wimbledon tennis title and eighth Grand Slam championship.

The top-ranked Spaniard beat the 12th seeded Czech 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday to reinforce his current status as the number one player in the game.

Nadal broke four times and never lost serve in 15 service games.

It’s the second time he has won the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back. He is now 5-0 in his most recent grand slam finals.

Defending champion Roger Federer of Switzerland, who was after his seventh Wimbledon title, crashed out against Berdych in the quarterfinals.
