The team, which had placed its hopes on the likes of Carlo Janka, Didier Cuche and downhill champion Didier Défago, finished well out of the medals.
Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway finished with a time of one minute, 30.34 seconds. Bode Miller of the United States finished 0.28 seconds behind, followed by countryman Andrew Weibrecht, 0.31 seconds behind.
Cuche, competing probably in his final Olympics, finished tenth. Janka came eighth and Tobias Grünenfelder came ninth. Défago was 15th.
