Novartis to take part in Expo 02

Work taking place at the future site of Novartis' Expo 02 exhibit in Neuchâtel Keystone

The Swiss healthcare giant, Novartis, has signed a SFr15 million contract with Switzerland's troubled national exhibition, Expo 02. Novartis plans to set up an exhibit highlighting biomedical research at the Expo.

The exhibit, entitled “Biopolis,” will be located in Neuchâtel’s “Nature and Artifice” pavilion.

Novartis’ contribution to the exhibition means good news for Expo organisers, who recently saw two major contributors withdraw their sponsorship.

In mid-February, the mobile telecommunications company, Orange withdrew its SFr15 million investment. That decision was soon followed by SAirGroup, Swissair’s parent company, which announced it was pulling out of a SFr6 million sponsorship agreement.
