Suhr claims Swiss Handball Championships
TV Suhr has won the Swiss Handball Championships after they defeated Kadetten Schaffhausen 27-25 in Aarau. The home side have now won three games in the best-of-five series, securing their place in the sun for the second year running.
A late goal by Robbie Kostadinovich scored in the last two minutes gave Suhr
the edge to win the match.
The defending champions had a rough ride to this year’s final, having had to overcome the most successful Swiss side of the past decade, Pfadi Winterthur. Their 3:1 series win over Urs Mühlethaler’s team set up the evenly-balanced final series.
Schaffhausen also fought hard for their place in the final. They beat the hot favourites, St Otmar St Gallen, 27-24, to win the semi-final series 3:1.
