Suter secures second place in super-G race

Switzerland's Fabienne Suter has come second in the World Cup women's super-G race in Italy.

Suter completed the course in Tarvisio on Sunday 0.51 seconds after the winning time of one minute, 21:72 seconds set by Lindsey Vonn of the United States.

Tina Maze of Slovenia placed third, coming 0.67 seconds after Vonn’s time.

It is Suter’s third podium place this season.

Fellow Swiss, Nadja Kamer, placed sixth and Martina Schild 14th, while Lara Gut was 20th.

Vonn’s victory is her 19th World Cup win in alpine skiing.
