Switzerland's under-20 ice hockey side has lost its final group match at the World Championships in the Czech Republic, going down 0-4 to Russia in an ill-tempered game.

Having already qualified for the quarter-finals, courtesy of Saturday’s thrilling 8-0 victory over France, the Swiss now face the daunting task of playing the Group A winners, Slovakia.

Against the Russians on Sunday, Switzerland never recovered after conceding two goals inside a minute during the first quarter.

The game eventually ended in disarray after fighting broke out at the final whistle following a fearsome body-check on a Russian player by Andreas Camenzind.
