Swiss skiers take two podium places

Swiss skiers continued their World Cup winning streak in the US resort of Beaver Creek on Saturday, with first and second places in the super-combined.

Carlo Janka, winner of last season’s crystal globe in the discipline, beat team-mate Didier Défago by 0.43 seconds. The Croat Natko Zrncic-Dim was third.

It was the third Swiss victory this season, following the successes of Didier Cuche in Sölden and Lake Louise.

Janka, who is 23, is now one of the favourites for the overall World Cup. His victory in Beaver Creek was his third podium place in four races so far this season.
