Swiss win last handball warm-up

The Swiss national handball team have achieved a rare victory over Germany in their last warm-up match before the World Championship qualifiers against Ukraine.

Urs Mühlethaler’s side bounced back from two narrow defeats in the weekend friendlies against Norway, to beat the Germans 27-26.

The winning goal was scored by Switzerland’s top scorer, Marc Baumgartner, who had missed both Norway matches with a muscle strain. The Berne forward scored nine goals in all.·

It was only Switzerland’s sixth win over the former world champions in more than 50 meetings.·
