United Nations' Year of Microcredit
The UN has named 2005 as the Year of Microcredit with the aim of opening up access to financial services to the poor to alleviate poverty across the globe.

To mark the year, swissinfo went to India to look at Swiss involvement in this field. And it's not just people in developing countries who are using microfinance to step over the poverty line.
