Human Rights Council opens for business

Geneva is home to the new Human Rights Council Keystone

From June 19, Geneva hosts the first ever session of the UN Human Rights Council. The new body is made up of 47 countries, including Switzerland.

The council, which is the result of a Swiss initiative, replaces the widely discredited UN Human Rights Commission.

A smartphone displays the SWIplus app with news for Swiss citizens abroad. Next to it, a red banner with the text: ‘Stay connected with Switzerland’ and a call to download the app.
