Crossair offers gesture to passengers

Crossair says it will honour Swissair tickets Keystone Archive

Crossair says it will honour previously issued Swissair tickets at no extra charge as a goodwill gesture to customers.

For the destinations it serves, Crossair says it will accept Swissair tickets that begin with the number 085 provided the ticket is valid and the fare conditions fulfilled.

It is excluding special discount tickets that Swissair has been selling over the past week.

Meanwhile, Crossair said on Wednesday that it has received a planned SFr500 million ($305 million) credit line from UBS and Credit Suisse necessary for the expansion of its route network.

Crossair will get SFr100 million immediately and a further SFr100 million will be released if and when a new business plan is approved and implemented.

UBS and Credit Suisse together own a 70 per cent stake in Crossair, which is set to emerge as the new national carrier if sufficient financial backing is found.
