Davos have defeated Zurich Lions 3-1, to take an unprecedented 3-0 lead in the overall best-of-seven series.

The side from canton Graubunden are now just one win away from their first Swiss league title in 17 years.

Lions’ head coach Pekka Rautakallio now faces an uphill task before the fourth match at Zurich’s Hallenstadion on Saturday. His team got off to a bad start, when Vjeran Ivankovic missed a chance in the first minute and the visitors paid the price for their profligacy when Sandro Rizzi scored for Davos three minutes later.

Strong performances by Michel Riesen and goalie Lars Weibel made the game tough for the Lions, who folded under the pressure.
