Roger Federer has gone through to the third round of the Olympic tennis tournament, where he next faces Tomas Berdych, the man who beat him in Athens.
Federer beat Rafael Arevalo of El Salvador 6-2, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Berdych, of the Czech Republic, dashed Federer's medal hopes in the second round of the 2004 Games.
Federer, who is set to lose his world number one ranking to Rafael Nadal next week, has said an Olympic medal is a top priority after not winning a Grand Slam title so far this year.
Earlier on Tuesday, fellow Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka and Patty Schnyder both lost their second-round matches.
Wawrinka went out against Austria's Jürgen Melzer in straight sets 6-4, 6-0, while Melzer's compatriot Sybille Bammer defeated Schnyder 6-4, 6-4.
