Federer sails into Rotterdam semis
Swiss number one Roger Federer has enjoyed a straight sets win over third seed Alex Corretja in the quarter-finals of the ATP tournament in Rotterdam.
The 6-4, 6-2 victory brought Federer his first ever win over the Spaniard, and further enhanced Federer’s growing reputation indoors. His two previous defeats by Corretja both came on clay last season in Gstaad and at the French Open.
The 19-year-old from Basel, who won his first ATP singles title at the Milan Indoors earlier this month, will now play either Andrei Pavel or Nicolas Kiefer for a place in Sunday’s final.
